CALLUP to Introduce Innovative System for Switching Cellular Calls to IP Networks at Mobile World Congress

Rosh Haayin, Israel, January 28, 2014. CALLUP, a provider of Value Added Services (VAS) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for the telecom industry, today announced that at the Mobile World Congress it will introduce a new, innovative solution enabling cellular operators to switch calls automatically and seamlessly from cellular to IP networks. The new solution, called Roam Home Voice, helps operators save expenses and avoid installation of expensive IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) infrastructure. The Mobile World Congress will be held February 24-27, 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. CALLUP's solutions will be displayed at the company's booth (#5D81, hall 5).

"The ability to transfer phone calls transparently from the cellular network to available IP networks allows the mobile operator to remove a large burden from the network, enhance in-building user experience, and improve customer service," said Alon Roth, CALLUP's CEO. "In addition, this capability allows the operator to save roaming costs when customer calls are forwarded to another operator, such as when the subscriber is abroad or in remote locations where the operator's coverage is not good."

Roam Home Voice identifies available wireless networks and forwards calls over the Internet without reducing their quality. The entire process is completely transparent to the user, who uses his regular phone user interface to make a call. The solution is based on a client-server model. The client is located on the device, transparent to the user. The server, located at the operator’s center, receives the mobile-originated calls over IP from the client.
Roam Home Voice is another step in CALLUP's strategy to provide cost saving tools and solutions to cellular operators. Recently, the company announced the Roam Home SMS solution, which enables operators to use the Internet for SMS delivery, significantly reducing SMS expenses. SMS is one of the most expensive services for which operators still pay when their subscribers are roaming, whether in the operator's country or abroad.
